Settlement reached in paternity case involving rapper

Sometimes, paternity cases arise. What resolutions are ultimately reached in such cases can be very impactful on all of the parties involved.

Sometimes, such cases are resolved through a court decision. Other times, such cases are resolved through a settlement.

A settlement was recently reached in a celebrity paternity case. The case involved the rapper Future. Future released his debut album "Pluto" last year and has another album set to release this year.

In the case, a woman claimed that Future was the father of her child. During the course of the case, a DNA test was conducted. Reportedly, the DNA test indicated with 99.9 percent certainty that Future is the father of the woman's child.

Recently, Future and the woman reached a settlement in this paternity case. Under the terms of the settlement, Future will be legally designated as the father of the woman's child and will make monthly child support payments in regards to the child. The amount of the child support payments will be $1,662 a month. Future has also agreed to pay for the above-mentioned DNA test.

This case illustrates a couple of points worth noting. First, it shows how DNA tests can play a major role in paternity cases. Second, it shows how parties in a paternity case sometimes reach settlements to resolve the case.

Paternity cases can be very impactful and can involve many complicated issues. Thus, if an individual is involved in a paternity case, he or she may wish to consider seeking advice from an experienced family law attorney.
